I have always said this too. I totally agree with you, Tom. It’s extremely discouraging to submit to a publication and wait forever to hear from them. Owning your publication gives you some much freedom to write whatever you wish. Besides, having to streamline your topic so it fits into their lengthy guidelines is quite hectic.

I must say this too: Post- Grad Survival Guide never got back to me when I submitted my drafts, so I stopped sending drafts as well.

Illumination is the ONLY publication that wastes no time in getting back to people, and that is quite encouraging for writers.
